- Formal Autism diagnosis is provided by the Children’s Assessment Team (CAT), an inter-disciplinarily team that provides specialised assessments of children with complex or multiple developmental problems involving three or more areas. They require a specific separate referral form.
- The Child Safety and Wellbeing Health Service (CSWHS) provides specialised assessment and therapeutic services to infants, children and young people from birth to 18 years and their families where there are concerns about child abuse, psychological maltreatment and/or neglect.
- Other SALHN services accepting referrals for paediatric patient. The following SALHN services accept referrals for paediatric patients (age range may vary), please send referrals directly to the relevant service to avoid delays in referral receipt and triaging:
- Women’s and Children’s Hospital Network (WCHN) services with visiting clinics at SALHN. The following WCHN services have visiting clinics at SALHN – please send referrals directly to the relevant WCHN service for triaging and specify request to be seen at SALHN.
- Cardiology
- Genetics
- Referrals to other paediatric services, including paediatric mental health referrals. Not all paediatric services are offered at SALHN. For WCH-specific specialties including Mental Health referrals, please send referrals directly to the relevant service to avoid delay in referral receipt and triaging. For medicolegal reasons, we are unable to forward referrals directly outside of SALHN. Please see WCH Outpatient Referrals page
- Urgent referrals and clinical advice, contact FMC switch on (08) 8204 5511 and ask for the Paediatric registrar or consultant on call
- Waitlist times, see Quarterly Specialist Outpatient Waiting Time Report. This report provides metropolitan specialist detail metropolitan specialist outpatient waiting times for Routine (category 2) and Non-urgent (category 3) patients who have not been given an appointment date at the census date (i.e. are unscheduled).
