SA Health Urgent Care Hub - Repat
Located at the Repat Health Precinct (Repat), SA Health Urgent Care Hub - Repat (formerly CARE Service), is a referral only service that provides care for older patients who can be safely managed outside of the Emergency Department (ED).
Services
SA Health Urgent Care Hub – Repat is staffed by specialist geriatric, nursing and allied health staff and provides care for older patients by providing alternative treatment pathways to Emergency Departments (ED) where emergency care is not required.
Research shows that Hospital Emergency Departments are not always the best place for older or frail people to receive non-emergency care. If it’s not an emergency, it can often be better for people to receive care at home or close to home.
SA Health Urgent Care Hub – Repat can deliver same day hospital level care to appropriate non-emergency older people, either in their homes or at the Urgent Care Hub based at the Repat Health Precinct.
The Hub is located in A Block at the Repat Health Precinct and has six treatment spaces and provides an alternative to ED.
The service takes advantage of the latest digital enhancements in health care, providing greater connectivity and engagement with health service providers and greater access to ongoing care for patients.
Appropriate non-emergency older patients who have called SAAS for help with be offered the services of the SA Health Urgent Care Hub – Repat.
Geriatrics in Emergency Department InReach (GEDI)
GEDI is an extension of the existing SA Health Urgent Care Hub – Repat service, and is a free same day service based at the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) on Level 2 of Flinders Medical Centre (FMC), Northern Entrance.
This service includes an assessment by a doctor specialising in older people above 65 years of ages.
GEDI is available between 8.00am and 4.30pm.

SA Health Urgent Care Hub is located in A Block at the Repat Health Precinct and is open at the following times:
- SA Health Urgent Care Hub – Repat: 8.00am - 10.00pm, 7 days a week. (Note, triage closes at 7.00pm with last patient arrival 7.30pm)
- SA Health Urgent Care Hub – Repat at Home: 8.30am - 8.00pm, 7 days a week.
