Children and families services at NALHN

Children and Families Services provide community based assessment and therapy to children with developmental delays by focusing on early intervention for children aged between 1-4 years of age.

Our team works collaboratively with families and their community to support children’s development and strengthen family relationships by providing services alongside parent/carer skill development programs. Each family is given a care plan which identifies priority areas for therapy and services that can be provided.

Therapies available

Depending on the need of the child, individual, multi-disciplinary therapy or group therapy is provided by our team which includes:

  • Speech Pathologists
  • Developmental Social Workers
  • Occupational Therapists

  • Physiotherapists.

This service is available for children who:

  • have identified developmental delays/needs
  • have not started DECD Kindergarten
  • live in the NALHN catchment zone.

This service is not available for children who have started DECD kindergarten or school, have been diagnosed with a disability or are accessing/eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
