Accounts and charges for Noarlunga Hospital
At the Noarlunga Hospital, you have the choice to be admitted as a private or public patient.
Public patients
- you will be treated by a doctor(s) assigned by the hospital
- you will not be charged for most medical or hospital services
Please note: in accordance with the Medicare Agreement, after 35 days of continuous hospitalisation, if a person is not receiving ‘acute care’ they will be charged the appropriate residential care fee. For more information and advice, please phone the Hospital Billing Section on (08) 8275 1660.
Private patients

Long stay patients
You are a long stay patient if you have been an admitted patient in hospital (public or
private) for a continuous period exceeding 35 days.
