Alcohol and Other Drug Awareness workshop

Alcohol and Other Drug Awareness workshop equips clinicians with a greater knowledge and awareness of alcohol and other drugs and provide a broad overview of the foundational concepts used when working with people who use alcohol and/or other drugs.

Facilitated by Mental Health Education Hub SA and Drug and Alcohol Services South Australia (DASSA) Comorbidity Inreach Service.

Target audience

A foundational course for all mental health clinicians working with anyone that uses alcohol and/or other drugs.

Nil

Course length and delivery method

3 hours

Available by Zoom and face to face.

Outcomes

describe why people use substances, including patterns of use
to identify drug categories
to understand the importance of alcohol and other drug assessment
to be aware of values and myths for individuals with alcohol and other drug issues
describe the policy and practice of harm minimisation
be familiar with alcohol and other drug resources and referral pathways.

Cost

$65.45 ($60.00 + $5.45GST)
$0 for all SA public mental health workforce including placement students

An administration fee of $25.00 will apply to all participants if you do not attend without notice on the day, or cancel within 24 hours of the course commencing.
