Mental health careers
We’re opening a record number of new mental health beds and services in South Australia.

There are hundreds of mental health jobs on offer. We provide care across many different settings in metropolitan and regional locations such as:
- Acute care settings
- Intermediate care services
- Integrated community mental health teams
- Supported accommodation and day programs
- Community and inpatient rehabilitation centres
- Forensic care settings.
We are seeking professionals to support our increased mental health services, such as:
- Enrolled Nurses and Registered Mental Health Nurses
- Lived Experience Workers, Community Rehabilitation Workers, Peer Specialists and Carer Consultants
- Psychologists
- Neuropsychologists
- Occupational Therapists
- Psychiatrists and Doctors in Training
- Social Workers
- Specialist Mental Health Physicians.
Relocation support
Relocation support of up to $15,000 is available for interstate and overseas applicants who sign an employment contract for an eligible role in metropolitan and regional locations.

Eligible internationally qualified Medical Practitioners (including UK trained Psychiatrists) and Registered Nurses (NZ, UK and Ireland) who have registered and practised in an-approved comparable international jurisdiction may be eligible for expediated pathways to Registration in Australia. More information can be found via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority:
- UK Psychiatrists – eligible now: Medical Board of Australia - Expedited Specialist pathway: accepted qualification list.
- UK and Irish Nurses, anticipate eligibility from April 2025: Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - General registration for IQRN (nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au).
