A typical day at SA Health
On a typical day at SA Health:
1,024 people are admitted to public hospitals - 50 of these admissions are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and 32 are war veterans or war widows
1,410 people are treated in accident and emergency departments
5,358 people are seen in hospital outpatient clinics
we respond to 675 incidents and assess, treat or transport 601 patients, of which 46% are patients whose lives were potentially threatened.

Support roles - catering, kitchen, maintenance, trades and services.
Community nursing - community health nursing and midwifery, palliative care, mental health, school education assistance and drug and alcohol services.
ED/ICU/Surgical nursing - emergency department nursing, intensive care nursing, operating theatre nursing and clinical practice consulting.
General, medical and surgical nursing - clinical services coordination, nursing management , registered nursing, enrolled nursing, clinical trials coordination or nursing education.
Midwifery - clinical services coordination, registered midwifery or enrolled midwifery.
Medicine - internships and junior medical roles, consulting, general practice, visiting medical specialist services and clinical research.
Acute allied health - occupational therapy, physiotherapy, allied health clinical services, clinical education, radiography, sonography, audiology, pharmacy, psychology, orthotics., podiatry and neuropsychology.
Primary allied health - nutrition and dietetics, social work, speech pathology, community health work, paediatric occupational therapy, lifestyle advice, health promotion or community liaison.
Emergency services - emergency call taking, ambulance services, patient transfer or paramedic Services.
