I have been part of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) project since 2012. As Director, EMR Operations, I lead the team that provides technical support for all elements of the EMR. After 20 years working as a physiotherapist for SA Health, I wanted to continue to contribute to improving healthcare for all South Australians by supporting the implementation of an electronic system that would enhance care and support clinicians in their practice.
There are new challenges every day, and I like knowing my team makes a significant contribution to helping our hospitals and clinics provide the best care they can. The team is passionate about what they do, as we are all doing something bigger than ourselves and have been involved in a change that will have benefits for everyone across the state for the foreseeable future. What more could you ask for from a workplace!
Chelsea Ford
Technology Support Specialist
I joined Digital Health SA in 2020, as an Information Technology Trainee. Upon finishing my two-year traineeship, during which time I also completed by Certificate IV in Information Technology, I became a permanent member of the Digital Health SA team as a Technology Support Specialist.
My role is to provide technical support to users for both physical hardware such as printers and software applications. The thing I love most about working at Digital Health SA is seeing how our work directly improves the capability of clinical staff to deliver outstanding patient care.
Richardson Samuel
Network Engineer
I joined Digital Health SA in 2021, initially as a Service Desk Officer. The best thing about the role was never knowing what the next call would be about. This instilled in me a never-ending quench for knowledge and resolutions. After six months in the position and wanting to further my career, I applied for and won a role as a Technical Specialist.
Over the next year, I helped roll out the Electronic Medical Record at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and set up COVID-19 clinics at short notice. The experience I gained in the role, along with the support of my manager, gave me the confidence to move into a new position as a Network and Communications Engineer.
I am grateful for the opportunities that Digital Health SA has given me to grow my career and feel fortunate to be part of an organisation improving the delivery of healthcare in South Australia.
