Neuropsychology Outpatient and Inpatient Mental Health Service at SALHN

Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) Mental Health Neuropsychology provides consultation and psychometric assessment into suspected brain changes/injury and cognitive impairment for individuals with a mental health disorder.

A Neuropsychologists opinion (in a mental health setting) may be sought for:

  • identification of cognitive contributors to certain behaviours and presentations
  • diagnostic clarification in the context of psychiatric illness and neurological events/illness (including post-ECT assessments)
  • assessment of the impact of psychiatric illness and neurological events/illness on cognitive functioning
  • cognitive characterisation for the purpose of assisting therapy and case management
  • decision-making capacity assessment (decision and time-specific)
