About Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network

The Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN) consists of 27 public health facilities including six acute hospitals, four Community Health sites, six Multi-Purpose Services, ten Residential Aged Care facilities (with a total of 387 beds) and one owned medical practice. It also incorporates Country Health Connect Riverland Mallee Coorong.

RMCLHN provides quality health services across the Riverland Mallee Coorong Region of South Australia, supporting the population of approximately 68,000.  Riverland Mallee Coorong residents have access to a wide range of health care services in a number of locations.  These services include Accident and Emergency, Day and Inpatient Surgery, Aboriginal Health, Obstetric Services, Community Health, and Aged Care services. 

The main hub for the area is the Riverland General Hospital (Berri) with other facilities located at Barmera, Loxton, Renmark, Waikerie, Mannum, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Meningie, Lameroo, Pinnaroo and Karoonda. These health services vary in size and function and offer a broad range of surgical, medical, maternity, aged care, theatre, accident and emergency and outpatient, Aboriginal Health and Community Health services.

Program information

The RMCLHN RN TPPP provides new graduates with:

  • Support and guidance in their first year of practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) to consolidate and develop skills and knowledge reflected in high quality nursing practice.
  • An evidence-based program developed by rural nurses and midwives and informed by the practical experience of our rural and regional workforce.
  • Comprehensive orientation
  • Dedicated online learning platform
  • Structured professional development/study days supporting the statewide TPPP Modules. Attendance at the Emergency Nursing and Midwifery Education 3-day workshop and Advanced Life Support  
  • Opportunities for clinical rotation of varying duration to specialty areas within the larger health services including Peri-operative, Emergency, Community and General ward areas may be available
