Clinical Specialisation Program

Final year scholarships for the Clinical Specialisation Program.

Additional courses have been added for Semester 1, 2027.

The Clinical Specialisation Program offers Registered Nurses and Midwives the opportunity to broaden their skills and knowledge through post graduate study.

Course offerings are available for nurses and midwives to customise a pathway to a Graduate Certificate in Nursing, Graduate Certificate in Nursing (Critical Care) or Graduate Certificate in Midwifery.

• Eligibility: Registered Nurses and Midwives employed by SA Health are eligible to receive one scholarship to complete a 12-unit course
  
• Duration: 13 weeks (+ 2-week mid-course break)
  
• Mode: Online
  
• Cost: Successful applicants will receive a scholarship from SA Health to cover the cost of the tuition fees.

How to apply

SA Health website to be updated ahead of 24 November 2026 with Adelaide University links to complete and submit your application form.

You must have written support via the Health Unit Endorsement form (DOC 426KB) Semester 1, 2027 from your Line Manager and Director of Nursing / Midwifery (or Nursing / Midwifery Director) to apply for a scholarship in the Clinical Specialisation Program.

Important dates

While delivered online this course requires ongoing participation. If you have leave booked during the semester, consider applying for a different intake as scholarships cannot be deferred.

Note: Where demand is low, courses may be deferred by Adelaide University and recipients rescheduled to the next available

SA Health Recognising Academic Achievement Scholarship - Extension to the Clinical Specialisation Program

To build on the foundations of the Clinical Specialisation Program, SA Health is providing additional scholarship funding to nurses and midwives who demonstrate exemplary academic achievement in their studies by achieving 85%, equivalent to a high distinction.

The SA Health Recognising Academic Achievement Scholarships will provide additional scholarship funding for students completing a Clinical Specialisation Program Course to undertake a second 13-week, 12-unit Clinical Specialisation Program Course and be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Nursing/Midwifery.

Registered Nurses and Midwives will have the opportunity to undertake any one of the available clinical specialisation streams, offered as their second 12-unit Course as part of the Recognising Academic Achievement scholarship.

Cost

Successful applicants will receive a scholarship from SA Health to cover the cost of the tuition fees.

Any travel and/or accommodation expenses that may be incurred to facilitate experiential learning activities are not included in the scholarship.

As SA Health scholarships are offered to a limited number of applicants, SA Health may reserve the right to recover the SA Health scholarship fee if you do not complete all components of the 12-unit clinical specialty course.
