Southern Adelaide Diabetes and Endocrinology Services at SALHN

The Southern Adelaide Diabetes and Endocrinology Service (SADES) provides specialist care for people with hormonal and metabolic disorders, including diabetes and conditions affecting the thyroid, pituitary, adrenal glands and bone metabolism/ osteoporosis.

The service operates across Flinders Medical Centre (inpatients), Marion GP Plus and Noarlunga GP Plus, providing both inpatient consultation and outpatient specialist clinics. Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team including endocrinologists, diabetes nurse educators, dietitians, psychologists and allied health professionals, ensuring comprehensive management of complex endocrine conditions.

Our clinicians work closely with general practitioners, community services and other hospital specialties to provide coordinated care for patients across Southern Adelaide.

Bulk Billing

SADES offers patients the opportunity for patients to be bulk billed at their outpatient clinic appointment. To provide your patient with the opportunity to consult with a bulk billed specialist, please provide a named referral to one of our specialists listed below.

Referral details

These SALHN Guidelines align with standardised best practice tools for referral to publicly funded specialist outpatient services developed in South Australia through the Clinical Prioritisation Criteria project. Patients will be triaged according to clinical priority to ensure timely access to specialist care.

Research and clinical trials

Southern Adelaide Diabetes and Endocrine Services has an active clinical trials unit, offering patients access to new therapies and emerging treatments in diabetes and obesity.

Participation in clinical research provides eligible patients with opportunities to access innovative therapies while contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge.
