Spiritual Health and Wellbeing at SALHN
The Spiritual Care team is a part of Allied Health and we are here to support patients, families and staff with compassion, respect and empathy. We are available SALHN wide, and have chaplains on site at Flinders Medical Centre, the Repat Health Precinct, Jamie Larcombe Centre and Noarlunga Hospital.
Spirituality is something that is found deep within oneself. It is your way of loving, accepting and relating to the world and those around you. During times of uncertainty and trauma, we can help in times of sadness, distress, grief and loss. Our Spiritual Care chaplains are warm, open, non-judgmental, respectful, and have the time to listen.
The Spiritual Care team is available for pastoral, emotional and spiritual support. This can include religious care too when requested. Chaplains can support patients with religious rituals such as communion, prayer, baptisms, weddings and funerals.
Chapel
The Flinders Medical Centre Multi-Faith Chapel is located on level 4, around the corner from the Frog lifts. It is a quiet place, open from 8.00am to 8.00pm for prayer and contemplation and has two Muslim Prayer Corners and prayer mats.
