What will this redevelopment project deliver for the community?
The 48-bed project at Noarlunga Hospital will increase the hospital’s capacity by more than 50 percent, delivering much needed additional beds to meet the growing demand for our services in the south.
The new section of the hospital will be connected via an enclosed linkway accessed from the existing hospital (next to Myles Ward), and an additional car park has been established next to the new building, predominantly for those visiting the Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit.
The new Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit will deliver a brand-new service and ensure mental health patients requiring longer-term support can access the care they need in a place that best meets their needs.
This will improve patient outcomes by putting a clear focus on recovery while also reducing their length of stay in an acute mental health bed.
We would like to thank our staff and consumers for their help in designing this facility which will provide a safe and therapeutic environment where consumers can reside and learn the skills of daily living in a supported environment.
