Nurse-led clinics at Gumeracha and Strathalbyn

Gumeracha District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital and the Strathalbyn and District Health Service provide care for people living in the region through nurse-led clinics.

The nurse-led clinic provides the local community timely access to urgent, non-emergency care, including access to virtual medical support when required.

This is not an emergency service. In the case of a life-threatening illness or injury, ring 000 or attend your closest emergency department:

Gumeracha — Mount Barker, Gawler or Modbury hospitals
Strathalbyn — Mount Barker

We have two convenient locations:

Gumeracha District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital
2 Albert Street, Gumeracha
Strathalbyn and District Health Service
14 Alfred Place, Strathalbyn

Both of our clinics operate seven days a week with the following hours:

Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm
weekends and public holidays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Our clinics offer a range of services, including but not limited to:

common colds
COVID
conjunctivitis
cuts, abrasions, bruises and burns
gastroenteritis, simple
influenza
sinusitis
skin conditions
sick certificates
simple limb injuries
tetanus boosters, if needed for injuries
tonsillitis
urinary tract infections.

We encourage you to call ahead to speak with a nurse for advice or to schedule a visit. This helps us ensure that we can provide the best possible care during your visit.

Yes, our nursing staff have access to virtual medical support to consult with a doctor if necessary. This ensures that you receive comprehensive care and expert advice even for more complex issues.

Our clinics do not provide treatment for the following:

time-critical and/or life-threatening illnesses or injuries
motor vehicle accidents
paediatric services for children under 10 years old
mental health issues
drug and alcohol-related services.

If you require treatment for any of these conditions, please seek appropriate emergency or specialised care.

No, our services are free of charge for Medicare-card holders. We aim to provide accessible and high-quality care to the community without any cost.
