Anaphylaxis Rapid Review Clinic at Flinders Medical Centre

Anaphylaxis Rapid Review (ARR) Clinic provides rapid allergy assessment for people of all ages who have experienced anaphylaxis.

The clinic:

  • documents events which may have triggered a severe reaction
  • investigates possible causes
  • provides Anaphylaxis Action Plan and adrenaline auto-injector (if medically indicated)
  • educates people regarding the action plan, preventative measures and Epipen® use

Important information for new patients  A skin prick test (allergy test) may be required on your first visit. Antihistamines interfere with allergy testing - Please cease all antihistamines 3 days (5 days if on Zyrtec) prior to your consult. However, if you  are using antihistamines as treatment, do not stop these medications; contact the allergy nurse if you have any queries.

Continue using intra-nasal corticosteroids (Rhinocort, Nasonex) and asthma medications if you need them for medical conditions.

PBS pharmacy costs will apply to prescriptions.

A named referral is required for the consultants who bulk bill private patients to Medicare:
Dr Tiffany Hughes
Dr Henning Johannsen

Immunology Nurse Practitioner
Ms Dianene Edwards
