Allergic Rhinitis and Chronic Sinusitis Clinic at Flinders Medical Centre
Allergic Rhinitis & Chronic Sinusitis Clinic provides public and private (Medicare bulk billed) services. The clinic investigates and treats allergic rhinitis and includes:
- immunotherapy treatment (IMT) for allergens such as pollen or spores
- coordinating immunotherapy as part of the GP share-care IMT program
Patients may be invited to take part in clinical trials. Patients must be 16 years or older.
Important information for new patients
A skin prick test (allergy test) may be required on your first visit. Antihistamines interfere with allergy testing - Please cease all antihistamines 3 days (5 days if on Zyrtec) prior to your consult. However, if you are using antihistamines as treatment, do not stop these medications; contact the allergy nurse if you have any queries.
Continue using intra-nasal corticosteroids (Rhinocort, Nasonex) and asthma medications if you need them for medical conditions.
