School vaccination information for students
What is the School Immunisation Program
Vaccination is the most effective way to protect yourself from diseases that can cause serious harm.
If you are in Year 7 or Year 10, you can get vaccines at school to protect you from diseases (germs) through South Australia’s School Immunisation Program.
For more information about what to expect on school immunisation day, see the video resources below.
Year 7
What to expect when getting your human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination at school.
For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children: what to expect when getting your HPV vaccine.
What to expect when getting your diphtheria tetanus pertussis (dTpa) vaccination at school.
Year 10
What to expect when getting your meningococcal ACWY vaccination at school.
If you have any concerns on school vaccination day
If you are worried about injections (needles), you can tell the nurse and they will make sure to talk you through the process.
The injection (needle) may hurt a little bit, but once it’s done you will have protection against the diseases.
If you have any questions about getting immunisations at school, speak with your parents/carers, teachers or immunisation provider.
