Patients may commence their stay at Tanunda War Memorial Hospital but finish their care at one of the neighbouring hospitals with specialist medical or allied health input when required. All hospitals in the area work collaboratively to support the patient care needs of the region.

When you arrive at the Tanunda War Memorial Hospital accident and emergency service, you will be seen by a nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury prior to seeing a doctor.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency you can present to the accident and emergency service at Tanunda War Memorial Hospital.
Alternatively, contact the Rural and Remote Mental Health Service on 13 14 65 for mental health counselling, support and information 24 hours, 7 days.
From 5 March 2018, birthing services will no longer operate from Tanunda War Memorial Hospital.
A General Practitioner (GP) shared care model for maternity and obstetric care is being implemented in the Barossa. Under the new model, women can continue to access community midwifery support in the Barossa, including ante-natal and post-natal care, with birthing available at nearby Gawler Health Service or Kapunda Hospital.
The changes are being implemented to ensure women can give birth at a facility with the available staff and resources required to provide the highest level of care.
