Dietetics and Nutrition Clinic at Flinders Medical Centre
Dietetic and Nutrition outpatient services at Flinders Medical Centre are predominately internal hospital referrals received from various SALHN departments and specialist units. These clinics provide nutritional assessment and treatment for adults following inpatient admissions and for acute and/or complex conditions.
Outpatient services are provided either as a face to face or phone consults.

- renal failure (stage 4 to 5)
- gastroenterology / Inflammatory bowel disease
- liver disease
- eating disorder
- nutrition assessment and support
- gastrointestinal surgery
- oncology / haematology
- head and neck cancer multidisciplinary
- home enteral nutrition
Services not provided include obesity/overweight, Hyperlipidaemia/Hypertension, and stable Diabetes. Please refer to SALHN Out of Hospital Diabetes Service Referral Form.
Outpatient services are provided either as face to face or phone consult. All appointments will be triaged based on the capacity of the Dietetic & Nutrition service and the nature of the condition.
Referrals
Flinders Medical Centre referrals are predominately inpatients (hospital) referrals from various departments within the hospital. For GP referrals, community health services should be accessed in the first instance, and private services may be appropriate, especially in urgent cases.
