Transport and parking at Flinders Medical Centre
Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) is on Flinders Drive, Bedford Park, approximately 12kms south of the City of Adelaide, off South Road.
FMC is easily accessible by public transport — bus, train and taxi.
Bus services operate from Flinders Drive to the centre of the City of Adelaide, and to other major suburban centres.
The Flinders Train Station is a 4-minute walk from FMC and is accessed by the pedestrian bridge. The pedestrian bridge is found in the laneway near FMC Northern Entrance, adjacent Flinders Centre for Innovation and Cancer (FCIC) building.

Taxis are available at a taxi stand on Flinders Drive (northbound side of the road, adjacent the Care Park (Western) car park. If there are no taxis, you can call a taxi from the direct telephone located near the enquiries desk (Northern Entrance, level 2) at FMC.
Patient drop off and pick up
Due to the construction of the new Acute Services Building the Flinders Medical Centre Main Entrance is closed.
The Northern Entrance is the main entry point for the hospital and also has an immediate drop off and pick up zone. Please note, there is no standing or parking in this area with limited spaces for drop off and pick up.
Alternatively you can park in the Care Park (Western) car park, FREE for 30 minutes* while the main entrance of the hospital is closed for major construction works.
* After 30 minutes standard parking fees apply.
Car parking
Parking is available in the following multi-deck car parks:
- Care Park (Western) car park, and is dedicated mainly to patients and families. This is the closest car park to the Northern Entrance.
Night shift staff and emergency clinicians also have access to this car park. - The Northern car park is also located close to the Northern Entrance and is accessed of Services Road. The Southern Car Park is also available for patients and families visiting the Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Building and the Older Persons' Mental Health Unit.
There are 30 minutes free* parking in the Care Park (Western) car park, which is for pick up and drop off while the main entrance of the hospital is closed for major construction works.
* After 30 minutes standard parking fees apply.
There is also limited two hour on-street car parking available on Flinders Drive (the main road in front of the hospital). Parts of this road are quite steep. Please note that this area is council land and is regularly patrolled by local council parking inspectors.

Car parking fees
Car parking fees have been implemented at our hospital. More information including fees and exemptions are available on the metropolitan hospitals car parking page.
Fees can be paid at the AutoPay stations before leaving or you can pay on exit, credit card only.
Please note, exemptions listed on this page do not apply to Flinders Medical Centre. Please contact the Flinders Medical Centre car parking officer for exemptions at our site.
Disability access
FMC is fully accessible for wheelchairs. Lifts are situated throughout the hospital. A ramp is available at the Northern Entrance (opposite the Care Park (Western) car park).
Car parking spaces for people holding disability permits can be found at the following locations :
- Care Park (Western) car park (designated Disability Permit parks are located near the lifts on Level 2 or drivers can use any available car parking space)
- Southern Visitor Car Park
- Flinders Drive southbound side of the road – please note these are parallel parks along the Flinders Drive.
