Snowtown Hospital is part of the Yorke and Northern Rural Region. Our hospital provides inpatient care in general medicine for adults and children, as well as palliative care.
A 24-hour service is provided.
When you arrive at accident and emergency, you will be seen by the duty nurse and triaged to collect information and assess your illness or injury. Patients who require urgent attention may need to be transferred to another hospital with additional services.
In a medical emergency, it is important not to 'self present' to hospital. SA Ambulance Service emergency medical dispatch support officers can provide advanced first-aid advice over the phone while an ambulance is on its way to you.
The on call doctors are private general practitioners and at some hospitals the doctors require payment of a gap fee. Please bring your Medicare card and concession cards when accessing emergency departments.
Parking is available onsite.
The building is wheelchair accessible and there are toilets for people with disability. Please ask at Reception.
