Services provided by Laura and District Hospital include accident and emergency, general medical and surgical care.

Laura and District Hospital provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to outpatients and aged care beds.
Patients may commence their stay at Laura and District Hospital but finish their care at one of the neighbouring hospitals with specialist medical or allied health input when required. All hospitals in the region work collaboratively to support the patient care needs.

A telephone advice form will be completed by the clinic. Please follow the signs on the door and ring the bell for assistance prior to entry.
If you are well and able to be tested we encourage you to access the Laura Medical Practice Testing Clinic in the first instance.
If it is decided you are well enough to go home we will provide further information and resources regarding COVID-19.

In a medical emergency phone 000 and await ambulance attendance.
When you arrive at the Laura and District Hospital accident and emergency service, you will be seen by a nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury prior to seeing a doctor.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency you can present to the accident and emergency service at Laura and District Hospital.
Alternatively, telephone Rural and Remote Mental Health Service on 13 14 65 for mental health counselling, support and information 24 hours, 7 days.
Visitors play an important part in any patient’s hospital stay, and visitors are welcome.
Visiting hours for all wards are 10.00 am to 8.00 pm.
Any visitors who are required to be in the hospital building outside these hours will need to register at the admissions desk and receive an identity badge.
Parking is available at the front of the hospital on Mill Street. There is also disabled parking available.
Laura and District Hospital has full disability access. If you have special needs and are unsure, please contact reception who will assist you with your specific enquiry.
