Under the new model, women can continue to access community midwifery support in the Barossa, including ante-natal and post-natal care, with birthing available at nearby Gawler Health Service or Kapunda Hospital.
The changes are being implemented to ensure women can give birth at a facility with the available staff and resources required to provide the highest level of care.
