Gender equality
SA Health strives to be an organisation whose employees across work sites, professions and at all levels, have equal access to the same resources, rewards, and opportunities as their peers.
Why is gender equality important?
There is clear evidence that gender equality in leadership and decision-making leads to improved operational and financial performance, increased innovation, and enhanced organisational reputation.
Across SA Health, a commitment to gender equality will ensure that:
- Anyone who aspires to leadership roles will have fair access.
- Flexible working arrangements will be proactively supported and promoted for everyone.
- The skills of people of all genders as leaders will be recognised and fully utilised.
How do we support gender equality?
SA Health’s Local Health Networks and their associated Statewide Clinical Support Services, the SA Ambulance Service, and the Department for Health and Wellbeing are committed to creating a culture of equality and respect in the workplace.
This is supported through our participation in White Ribbon workplace accreditation programs at each LHN, SAAS and DHW.
