White Ribbon is a male-led initiative that recognises the positive role men play in preventing violence against women. The Australian White Ribbon awareness campaign works through primary prevention initiatives involving awareness raising and education; and programs with youth, schools, workplaces and across the broader community.
The South Australian Public Sector is collaborating with White Ribbon Australia to prevent and respond to violence against women by having all State Government agencies accredited as a White Ribbon Workplace.
SA Health is committed to workplace gender equality, respect and inclusion – free of discrimination and violence – and takes active steps to undertake a range of awareness raising, staff training and engagement activities in line with the White Ribbon Workplace Accreditation Program requirements.
This includes continually reviewing and adapting organisational culture, practices and procedures to promote and embed respectful relationships and safe workplaces for all.
The SA Health Integrity Program is also being implemented to help deliver cultural reform with a specific focus on building a culture of integrity and safety.
