Communities along the River Murray that were impacted by the 2022-23 flooding are continuing to be supported in their ongoing recovery. The Flood Recovery Mental Health Support Program has been jointly funded by the Australian and SA Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements to engage specific service providers to deliver specialist mental health support.
The program focuses on supporting individuals and strengthening families and communities, providing a flexible, proactive and coordinated response that reinforces the community connections that are vital to recovery, adaptation and future resilience.
Key program activities include:
- community events and wellbeing groups
- therapeutic supports and psychoeducation
- resilience and capacity building
Supports may be individualised or group-based and may be delivered through face-to-face, telehealth, and mobile outreach services.
A list of the service providers now delivering this program is below.
If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed and struggling to cope, reach out to local services that can provide mental health and wellbeing support.
