Naracoorte Health Service is part of the Upper South East Health Services and Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN). Our facility includes 39 public beds, six day surgery beds, two operating theatres, same day and overnight stay, specialist consulting rooms, youth health, plus a residential aged care unit in Moreton Bay House that accommodates 11 State-funded aged care beds and 30 Commonwealth aged care beds.
This is a 24-hour service.
When you arrive at accident and emergency, you will be seen by the duty nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury. Charges may apply to services provided if a hospital admission is not required.
In a medical emergency, it is important that you do not ‘self present’ to hospital. SA Ambulance Service emergency medical dispatch support officers can provide advanced first-aid advice over the phone while an ambulance is on its way to you.
Cost for emergency department service is according to health insurance status. A doctor who is called in to attend after hours will charge a fee.
Visitors play an important part in any patient’s stay. See the visit our health service page for detailed information on times and requirements.
At the Naracoorte Health Service you can choose to be admitted as a Private Patient. Admission as a private patient has benefits for both you and the hospital.
For more information, please visit attending hospital as a private patient.
Parking is available in the visitors’ car park alongside the hospital.
The building is wheelchair accessible and there are toilets for people with disability. Please ask at Reception or the nurses station for directions.
