Healthy children

The Child Health program aims to support children and their families by providing a range of services that promotes healthy child development. Services include:

  • Early Years Parenting Centre (EYPC), a Communities for Children initiative

  • Children’s Centre Support.

Healthy ageing

Services provided aim to support people to live safe, healthy and independent lives in the community.  Services include:

  • in home support
  • community nursing
  • continence
  • palliative care
  • aides for everyday living
  • aged care assessment.

Staying healthy

We also offer a range of services to prevent and manage illness.  Services include:

  • Do it For Life Program
  • chronic condition self-management programs
  • diabetes management
  • respiratory services
  • cardio vascular support
  • breast care
  • women’s health
  • quit smoking
  • healthy eating
  • community education.

Mental health

The Adult Mental Health Team provides specialised one-to-one counselling, group work and health promotional activities aimed at promoting mental, emotional, physical and social health and wellbeing.

Workers provide information, education, counselling and support to adults, families and carers whose lives are affected by mental health issues.

Services are provided to adults over 18 years of age, in the Port Augusta Community and throughout the Far North Region of South Australia.

Community Health Nursing

Community Health nurses provide specialist nursing care across the health service. These services are provided in the home, at our community health locations and within the hospital.  Specialist areas include:

  • palliative care
  • wound management
  • breast care
  • continence
  • diabetes
  • respiratory support
  • cardiac rehabilitation
  • mental health.

Allied health

The allied health services provided include:

  • physiotherapy
  • occupational therapy
  • podiatry
  • social work
  • speech pathology
  • dietetics.

Allied health professionals assess people’s needs and provide treatment and therapy services to support individuals and groups to rehabilitate, maintain or gain independence and to assist in the management of pain illness and disability.
