South Australian immunisation coverage rates

The Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) records details of vaccinations given to individuals who live in Australia.

The following graphs provide annualised data for all children fully immunised in South Australia as reported by AIR for the June, September, December and March assessment quarters.

The term 'Aboriginal' is inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

School Immunisation Program (SIP) coverage rates

The following graph provides the annual coverage rates by vaccine name and dose number for students vaccinated  through the SIP for the previous 9 years. This does not include students who may have received follow catch-up vaccinations outside the school year.

Adolescent catch-up coverage rates

Recommended adolescent vaccines remain funded for individuals up to 20 years of age.

The below graph provides the coverage rates for individuals up to 20 years of age who have received catch up adolescent vaccines through School Immunisation Program providers, general practices and some pharmacies.

# Students vaccinated in the 2025 School Immunisation Program and recorded on IRIS 1 February 2025 to 31 January 2026. Year 7 students (Adacel or Boostrix and Gardasil) and Year 10 students (Bexsero and MenQuadfi).

*AIR Adolescent Summary coverage reports, processing dates 31 March 2025, 30 June 2025, 30 September 2025 and 31 December 2025 used to calculate annualised coverage data at 20 years of age for HPV (Gardasil), dTpa (Adacel or Boostrix) and meningococcal ACWY (Nimenrix or MenQuadfi).

*Meningococcal B (Bexsero) is not included in the adolescent coverage reports, therefore comparable AIR data reports were used.
