Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Immunisation Program

The RSV Immunisation Program aims to provide health professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to competently deliver the 2025 National RSV Maternal and Infant Protection Program.

This program is self-paced and should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. There is a 10 question multichoice assessment at program conclusion. A Certificate of Completion will be available to download once the assessment has been successfully completed.

This course has been developed by immunisation and education experts from the Communicable Disease Control Branch (CDCB), Department for Health and Wellbeing, South Australia, and the Education and Training Department of the Women's and Children’s Hospital, Adelaide, South Australia.

Health professionals who successfully complete and meet all course requirements will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Immunisation Program has been allocated 0.5 CPD hours.

To register, you must provide your full name, email address, a password and state or territory of residence.

Course requirements

The course requires access to the internet and a current browser. It is recommended to use the most recent version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. The course can be accessed via desktop, laptops, and tablets, although mobile devices can be used, they are not the preferred device.

Assessment

There is a 10 question multi choice assessment at course conclusion, a score of 100% must be achieved with unlimited attempts.

Clinical assessment

A clinical assessment is not required to successfully complete this program.

Depending on skills and experience, many registered nurses and other health practitioners may already have the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities that underpin clinical performance applicable to providing an immunisation service.

Those new to immunisation and those who feel they require further development of clinical competency are strongly encouraged to arrange clinical supervision from an experienced immuniser and this should be followed by a clinical competency assessment.
