Worker Use of Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy

The Worker Use of Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy (PDF 275KB) sets out the mandatory requirements and obligations concerning the use of alcohol and other drugs in the workplace by workers (employee and non-employee) to ensure SA Health provides a safe, healthy and productive workplace in alignment with the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (WHS Act).
The consumption of alcohol and other illicit drugs on SA Health premises is prohibited.
Applicability
This policy applies to all employees and contracted staff of SA Health; that is all employees and contracted staff of the Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW), Local Health Networks (LHNs) including state-wide services aligned with those Networks and SA Ambulance Service (SAAS).
