Who we work closely with

The Forensic Mental Health Service operates in close collaboration with the:

Owenia House

Owenia House is a specialist statewide service providing evidence based, therapeutic services aimed at reducing the incidence of sexual assault in South Australia.

The service is available to adults who have committed an offence and are community based. It is also available to adults who are concerned they may sexually offend against children or adults.

Owenia House provides assessment, education and therapeutic services in both individual and group settings,  according to the person’s assessed needs and risk of reoffending.

Therapeutic approaches include services for people who commit internet-based offences, direct, physical contact offences to children or adults, people who have an intellectual disability or acquired brain injury.

Owenia House works closely with a range of specialist agencies, and contributes to a wide range of training programs in the health and welfare sectors focusing on the issues of child and adult sexual offending.

Owenia House partners with the University of Adelaide in research into sexual offender issues and welcomes enquiries from the public and service providers.
