Services at Oodnadatta Health Service

The following services are available:

Accident and emergency

Oodnadatta Health Services provides a 24-hour, seven-day emergency service for Oodnadatta and the surrounding area. The registered nurses also work with the ambulance service and arrange retrieval services when required.

Primary health

A comprehensive primary health care service is provided by the nursing and Aboriginal health worker staff.  

Services offered locally:

  • chronic disease management
  • women’s and children’s health
  • sexual health services
  • annual adult health checks.  

Regular station visits by an Aboriginal health worker and a registered nurse are undertaken to ensure quality health care is delivered to all areas.  

Visiting services offer a variety of clinics including:

  • mental health
  • dietician
  • podiatry
  • children’s health
  • GP clinics.

Specialist services

Clients of Oodnadatta Health Service are provided with regular transport to Coober Pedy Hospital and Health Service to access specialist services.
