The 24-hour emergency service is staffed by a registered nurse who offers assessment and treatment, and a doctor is available on call. Kimba has a volunteer ambulance service and access to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Kimba Pioneer Memorial Hostel provides low to medium level residential care for older people in a home-like environment. Higher level care is provided at the hospital, adjacent to Kimba Pioneer Memorial Hostel. Respite care is available at the hostel and hospital.
