Health programs for men
There are many programs in Australia that work towards improving the health outcomes of men of all ages.
The following links provide more information about men’s health issues.
Better Health Coaching Service
Improving general health and wellbeing and reducing your risk of developing long-term health problems such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease can be achieved by eating a healthy diet, getting plenty of physical activity and maintaining a healthy weight.
Making healthy lifestyle changes can be harder than it sounds though. That’s where the Better Health Coaching Service can help. The free Better Health telephone coaching service can help you set goals, identify healthy changes and keep you motivated and on track to meet your goals. Further information is available on the Better Health website.
Foundation 49
The Foundation 49 website includes a one minute men’s health check that can be printed off and taken to your GP. The site also includes a more detailed DIY health check and men’s health information.
Menshed's Australia
The Australian Men's Shed Association is an Australian organisation that specialises in the needs of men, their health and wellbeing and their communities.
Sheds are located in the Adelaide metropolitan area and country areas. Details can be obtained from the Men’s shed locator on their website.

They have resources and programs specifically designed for men aimed at equipping men with the knowledge and skills to maintain their own good mental health and wellbeing, and recognise symptoms in people close to them, in order to prevent the development of a mental health condition.
Family and relationship support
