Medical Officer Professional Development Reimbursement System (MOPDRS)

Background

A customised MOPDRS was developed and implemented across SA Health from September 2020, providing a centralised and secure online professional development reimbursement claims solution for Medical Officers.

The MOPDRS does not alter clinician entitlements for PD (professional development), and its benefits include:

  • a single point of storage for increased user transparency via real-time reports, accurate and timely reimbursement of claims
  • tools such as a mobile phone app which allows the secure upload of receipts and / or finalisation of claims by clinicians at any time and in any location, with automatic routing of reports for efficient approvals
  • check opening balances for PD leave and entitlements
  • review and update bank account details
  • complete and submit claims online, and in any location.

Key dates

  • End of PD year — 13 April
    Submit all PD claims before this date to access expiring balance from two PD years previous
  • Start of PD year —  14 April 
    New PD entitlements issued (for use up to 2 PD years dependent on contract start date and/or resignation date prorata)
  • End of FBT year —  31 March
