Following an extensive period of market research and stakeholder consultation during 2019 which included targeted focus groups for each relevant profession and for professional development officers, a centralised and secure online professional development reimbursement (PDR) claims solution for SA Health clinicians has been identified and customised for implementation from September 2020.
This new system will be released initially to SA Health medical officers. The Stage 1 pilot will be operational from 7 September 2020, with Stage 2 released on 2 November 2020.
From November 2, as part of phase 2 roll out of SA Health Professional Development Reimbursement System, all Medical Officers will have access to the new system.

A single point of storage will provide increased user transparency via real-time reports, and will support the accurate and timely reimbursement of claims.
A convenient mobile phone app will allow the secure upload of receipts and/or finalisation of claims by clinicians at any time and in any location, with automatic routing of reports for efficient approvals.
We are empowering our clinicians and staff with the right tools, and this new system will not alter or change clinician entitlements for professional development.
