Transfer a health facility licence
This application is used to transfer an existing licence to a new licensee.
Key timelines
- Applications are generally processed within 6 to 8 weeks from the date all required documentation is received
- Approval timeframes may vary depending on the complexity of the application, the outcomes of inspections and any associated remedial actions
The facility must not operate under the new licensee until the transfer is formally approved.
Application process
- Prepare application – Gather all required documents to support the transfer, including proof of identity, business registration, and any additional supporting information
- Submit application – Complete and submit the online application form with supporting documentation
- Pay application fee – An invoice will be issued. Payment must be made before the application is reviewed
- Assessment and review – The application is checked for completeness. Additional documents may be requested if needed
- Site inspection (if required) – The facility may be inspected to confirm compliance with licence conditions
- Transfer approval – Once the assessment is complete and requirements are met, the transfer is approved
- Licence issued – The licence will be issued to the new licence holder, reflecting the change in ownership

Private Hospital
- Transfer of licence - $2,837
- Additional inspection of premises - $2,837
Private Day Procedure Centre
- Transfer of licence - $1,702
- Additional inspection of premises - $1,702
Invoices are issued after application submission. Payment options will be detailed on the invoice.
* If an inspection is required, the inspection fee is included in the original application fee. Additional inspections due to incomplete work or remedial actions will incur extra charges.
