Financial Reporting Policy

The Financial Reporting Policy (PDF 359KB) provides the mandatory requirements to ensure SA Health’s financial reporting, and management of administered items align with the Public Finance and Audit Act 1987, the Health Care Act 2008, Australian Accounting Standards Board, Treasurer’s Instructions (TIs), and other regulatory requirements.
This policy also prescribes the principles to achieve financial management compliance, outlining the level of responsibility and performance required by all SA Health employees to ensure compliance with the relevant financial obligations.

Applicability

This policy applies to all employees and contracted staff of SA Health; that is all employees and contracted staff of the Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW), Local Health Networks (LHNs) including state-wide services aligned with those Networks and SA Ambulance Service (SAAS).
Specifically, this policy applies to all finance employees and contracted staff, as well as any external parties or other SA Health employees and contracted staff who are involved in the delivery of an administered item, as detailed in Appendix 1 – Financial Reporting Mandatory Instruction.
