Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025
On 11 August 2025, the South Australian Employment Tribunal approved the Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025 (PDF 909KB).
This Agreement covers the following classifications:
- Allied Health Professionals (AHP)
- Allied Health Assistants (AHA)
- Psychologists
The ballot for the Agreement closed on 6 July 2025. The independent voting service provider that conducted the ballot, advised that a majority of employees who voted were in favour.
The new Agreement will now replace the South Australian Public Sector Enterprise Agreement: Salaried
2021 for the above classifications.
Process for negotiations
Bargaining for the Agreement commenced on 9 September 2024, with formal negotiations starting on Friday, 14 March 2025.
As required as part of the Fair Work Act 1994 (SA) (the Act), a Notice of Intention to Bargain was issued with 14 days’ notice before the commencement of bargaining. The Notice of Intention to Bargain identified the employees to be covered by the Agreement and outlined their rights to representation. Employees were able to be represented by an employee association under the Act (e.g., a Trade Union) or an agent of their choice.

Benefits for AHP’s
Employees classified as AHPs are entitled to:
- a Professional Development Allowance at minimum of $1,000 per annum pursuant to Clauses 29.1 & 29.2 of the Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025 (PDF 909KB).
- if classified as AHP2 or above, to the reimbursement of professional development expenses at minimum $1,000 per annum pursuant to Clauses 29.3 to 29.9 (inclusive) of the Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025.
- (excluding AHP5 classified or above) an Additional Qualifications Allowance at minimum $714 per annum subject to eligibility criteria and conditions pursuant to Clauses 30.1 to 30.3 (inclusive) of the Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025.
- if employed as a Psychologist an Area of Practice Endorsement Allowance at minimum $8,359.40 per annum subject to the conditions pursuant to Clauses 30.4 & 30.5 of the Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025.
- the Regional Incentive Payment at minimum $882 per annum, if appointed to a position in a Regional Zone location as identified in Appendix 5 of the Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025 (EA) and pursuant to Clause 31.2 of the EA subject to the conditions in Clause 31.3 of the EA.
- if classified as AHP3 to AHP5 (inclusive) who expressly have “managerial responsibilities” as defined in Appendix 2 of the Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025 (EA) are entitled to the Managerial Allowance at minimum $2,546.96 per annum pursuant to Clause 33 of the EA.
