Diversity, equity, and inclusion

Creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is everyone’s responsibility, and we all play a role in driving meaningful change. Embracing diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds, helps to unlock greater innovation, creativity, and problem-solving.

DHW's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy 2024-2026

This strategy represents DHW’s commitment to and outlines the actions that we will take in fostering a workplace where everyone can belong as their whole selves. The strategic goals are aligned to the SA Public Sector’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategy 2023-2026 and ensures we contribute to the SA Public Sector Anti-Racism and SA Autism strategies.

The strategy ensures that the integrity of First Nations is upheld and honours the Aboriginal voice throughout.

This strategy is monitored by our DEI Executive Working Group and supported and informed by our Employee Resource Groups. Find out more and download a copy:

Department for Health and Wellbeing’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2026 – 2030

In June 2026, the Department for Health and Wellbeing released its Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2026-2030 (DAIP) (PDF 679KB). The DHW DAIP sets out the actions we have committed to over the next four years to continue to uphold the rights of people living with disability.

We’ll do this by continuing to improve the accessibility and inclusiveness of our services and workplace practices.

The DAIP aligns with the key themes and priorities of the Inclusive SA: State Disability Inclusion Plan.

The DHW DAIP further sets out the actions to improve the accessibility and inclusiveness of our services and workplace practices.
