Repat Health Precinct
The Repat is returning the site to a thriving health precinct. The Chapel, Remembrance Gardens, Museum and SPF Hall will be protected for future generations.
Patients with complex dementia will now receive care in a new state-of-the-art facility at the Repat Health Precinct.
Developed using the latest evidence and consumer input, the Specialised Advanced Dementia Unit is based on a small house model, with 2 pods of 6 beds each, incorporating dementia enabling principles in a nurturing home-like environment to support and empower people living with dementia to live life as independently as possible.
The Specialised Advanced Dementia Unit will form part of the excellence in dementia care provided on the Repat site, surrounded by world class providers such as Hammond Care’s dementia village, community dementia services and links with Universities.
Some key features and benefits of the new 12-bed acute dementia specialist facility include supported way-finding, single rooms, continuous paths of movement, on-ward commercial kitchen, specialised sensory rooms, open spaces, gardens, acoustic panelling and a home-like aesthetic.
Moving patients from the Noarlunga Hospital’s Myles Ward to the new facility at the Repat will mean higher acuity patients can receive end to end care at Noarlunga Hospital.
