Conference
The conference provided information about how voluntary assisted dying will be implemented in South Australia, including an overview of the process and support services.
With the passing of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2021 (the Act), the Department of Health and Wellbeing is leading the introduction of a safe, accessible pathway for eligible South Australians with a terminal illness.
Implementation is governed by a Voluntary Assisted Dying Implementation Taskforce that oversees delivery of nine workstreams, supported by working groups and a project implementation team.
As of 31 January 2023, voluntary assisted dying will be a choice available to eligible South Australians at end of life.
