To increase levels of physical activity and improve the health and wellbeing of indigenous and non-indigenous youth in Ceduna.
School aged children who are residents of Ceduna.
External partner and their role:
Bike SA – Bikes Palya: will provide a fleet of 20 bicycles and deliver the Bikes Palya program of cycling activities to promote physical activity.
This project will deliver four, one-week Bikes Palya programs during school holidays, which include activities to promote healthy eating and physical activity. In addition, the project aims to engage at-risk youth in positive recreation activities to support attendance and engagement in school across the whole year.
The project will also include activities to improve knowledge around bike maintenance, bike mechanics and bike riding skill development.
Bike SA will also provide consultation advice and assistance in developing a BMX track.
