Aged Care Facility Visitation in South Australia - COVID-19
In order to protect older Australians, on 18 March 2020, the Prime Minister announced that new restrictions on visits to residential aged care facilities will apply.
The Australian Government Department of Health has released updated information for residents of residential aged care services, their family members and visitors, which is available on their Advice for aged care facilities and visitors to residents web page.
Restrictions on visits to residential aged care facilities in South Australia
The Government of South Australia has issued a Direction in relation to visitors to residential aged care facilities.
This direction sets out the circumstances under which a person can enter, or remain on, the premises of a residential aged care facility in South Australia. This includes visits to residents and providing goods and services..
This direction will remain in place from 22 March 2020 until such time as it is revoked or amended.
