Bone Densitometry Services at Flinders Medical Centre
The Bone Densitometry unit provides procedures to determine bone strength. It can identify osteoporosis, osteopaenia, trend of bone loss and the risk of future fracture. We provide this service to inpatients and outpatients of Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders Private Hospital. Patients referred from general practitioners and specialists are also welcome. Bone density measurements involve an extremely small dose of radiation. Each measurement will deliver less than one tenth of the radiation of a chest x-ray. All patients are bulk billed.
All patients must have a referral letter from a medical practitioner before a booking can be made.
