Ophthalmology/Eye Clinic at Flinders Medical Centre
The Flinders Eye Clinic offers public services to people with eye and lid medical conditions and specialises in phaco-emulsification cataract and implant surgery.
The Clinic performs diagnostic tests including:
- fundus photos - shows inside the back of your eye
- humphrey visual fields - a map of the back of your eye which shows your vision
- OCTs - a scan for the retina
- biometry-both IOL master and contact/immersion A scans - measures for cataracts and cataract surgery
Our team of orthoptists work closely with the consultant ophthalmologists to provide the best of care for your eyes. Regular check-ups and monitoring can give you good protection against vision loss and sight problems.
Allow 2 hours for your appointment as you may require further testing.
Your initial clinic appointment does not involve surgery as our consultants like to meet to discuss things with you before booking any surgery
Please note: Following your appointment, your eyes may be dilated and it may be unsafe for you to drive so please arrange a driver.
We don't prescribe glasses in this clinic and recommend you visit your local optometrist for new glasses.
