BreastScreen SA awarded a finalist in the 2018 SA Health Awards
Thursday, 6 December 2018
BreastScreen SA were proud to have been awarded a finalist in the 2018 SA Health Awards, under the ‘Building and Strengthening Partnerships’ category for their ‘Breast Screening in the North’ initiative with the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network
Since 2016, the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) and BreastScreen SA have together implemented strategies to improve the number of women aged 50 – 74 in the north accessing free breast cancer screening. Strategies have addressed barriers to screening such as access to services, improving health literacy, and improving motivation. As a result, screening numbers have improved for NALHN staff and the general public, and in particular the uptake of screening by new women has exceeded expectation.
The awards ceremony was held on Friday 30 November, 2018 at the Adelaide Town Hall.
BreastScreen SA would like to congratulate the winners of the ‘Building and Strengthening Partnerships’ category – Public Health and Clinical Systems within the Department of Health and Wellbeing for the ‘Healthy Workers Healthy Futures’ initiative.
