COVID safe Grand Final celebrations

People can enjoy the AFL Grand Final this weekend while keeping COVID safe:

  • Don’t go if you are unwell
  • Take hand sanitiser and sanitise hands regularly
  • Do not share utensils or drinks
  • Avoid physical contact when celebrating goals
  • Maximum 50 people for gatherings at a private residence. The number of people must not exceed 1 person per 2 square metres.


New COVID-19 cases

There have been two new cases of COVID-19 today. A male in his teens and a woman in her 20s, who recently returned from overseas, have returned positive results in hotel quarantine. They have been in a medi-hotel since their arrival and there is no public health risk.

  • 2 new cases today
  • 10 active COVID-19 cases
  • 2,733 tests yesterday
  • 528,925 tests in total
  • 487 confirmed cases in total
  • 473 people have recovered from COVID-19
  • 4 COVID-19 related deaths
