Disasters and Mental Health Support page and resources launch
SA Health has launched a new page as a central location for information about disasters and mental health support: www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/DisastersAndMentalHealthSupport
It’s common to experience stress and grief after a disaster.
Some people will recover without formal help. However, others may need extra support to help get life back on track.
The page will support community members and service providers before, during and after a disaster. It provides information and resources with the aim to minimise the impact of trauma grief and loss, and to help people to feel safe, connected to others, calm and hopeful.
New resources have also been developed:
- Mental health recovery after a disaster (A4 factsheet for community members) (PDF 125KB)
- Mental health recovery information for partners and stakeholders in recovery (A4
Factsheet) (PDF 107KB)
- Supporting mental health recovery in the community after a disaster (A5 booklet) (PDF xKB)
